Analyses of Precedent 08/10/10

After enough rest for 1 week, I finally turned up to write a post about our previous project. The project was a introduction of precedent architecture study, that gave us some basic ideas of designing and analysing procedures. Our group analysed Mario Botta house in Riva San Vitale. In the end of the 3 weeks there were still some parts missing in our final presentation. However, it was good to realise our lack of work and for those parts we had done were commented good in our tutorial review yesterday.

I did the part of site analysis and elementary analysis, as well as 2 plan drawings, 2 sketches and 1 interior drawing. I've past the very stressful moments in the last few weeks. My friends said that every day watching me drawing the damn big site plan even turned them bored. As well as for the site models. I bought those quite expensive foam boards to do a 1:500 site model. After I finished that, I was asked to do another 1:1000 one for better illustration of the site. Then I bought those even more expensive mounting board and made the site model ALL BY MY HANDS.

 1:500 site model.

1:1000 site model|CUT AND COMPOSED BY HANDS!

Thank Brian for asking me to do the 1:1000 model at last. Since after I finished my 1:1000 model I realised how insufficient the 1:500 one was.

my 2 sketches of the house. a bit rough.

and a rushed-out interior drawing added in our pdf file.

We were lack of interior analysis in our presentation and it was pointed out by the tutors. Therefore, i drew this interior view for the house although it did not come out nice...

It was a pity that I forgot to bring my camera and take photos of our presentation sheets. our group also have a very impressive perspective model down by Sophie and one interesting volume illustrating model by Betty. I still need to gather some images from them to enrich my portfolio for our first project. Thanks them a lot for their help and kind instructions especially for my verbal presentation! I really love to work with them. And we end up with a A- from Brian. Cheers! xx
